G Herbo For Dummies

With the release of his latest project, "Humble Beast" we deliver the essential G Herbo playlist.

When discussing the most talented young artists in hip-hop right now, it’s so hard to overlook G Herbo. The Chicago rapper, formerly known as Lil Herb, is one of the true talents that emerged from the drill rap movement. He grew up on the Southside of the city, and you can hear all about his experiences in his music. His gritty, yet genuine take on his upbringing is inspiring. Here’s a look at some of our favorite tracks from G Herbo.

“Pull Up” – Using a sample from a sultry single was a change of pace for a traditionally drill rapper, but it was the perfect crossover for him to show his versatility.

“Red Snow” – Big Sean ripped this beat, but so too did Herb. In fact, he may have taken it to another level. Regardless, it goes hard.

“Peace of Mind” – This song right here…let’s just say it’s quietly one of Herbo’s greatest tracks to-date. Listen to the lyrics and you can feel them.

“Write Your Name” – Yet another track that’s ever so relatable for those who have lost someone close to them. It’s a must have in the rotation.

“Yeah I Know” – G Herbo can really spit. Yeah, I know.

“Rollin” – This is the essential G Herbo song right here. This shit will get you hype at any hour of the day regardless without fail.

“4 Minutes of Hell Pt. 4” – Herbo’s “4 Minutes of Hell” series has received a lot of love from fans throughout the years. “Pt. 4” is my personal favorite though.

“Kill Shit” feat. Lil Bibby – G Herbo is cool and all but let’s throw it back to Lil Herb. This was the first track I ever heard from the Chicago artist, but I knew from this moment that Herb had it.

“Jugghouse” – I have no idea why I love this song so much man. It’s been getting crack for 3 years straight and every time feels like the first time.

“Get 2 Bussin” feat. Lil Bibby – I know what you’re thinking, “Another G Herbo and Lil Bibby collab?”. Yes, I’m still waiting on these two to drop and official tape together.
