What to Cop this Weekend (3/31 & 4/1)

Welcome back fellow sneaker lovers, it is Friday once again and that can only mean two things. For starters, it’s pay day; and also that it`s time to find out what kicks you should blow your hard earned money on this weekend. What makes this edition of WTC special is that today is TDT day, our 2-year anniversary. So for the culture, I brought back one of my favorite segments. Luckily, as I have done in the past,  I’ve made it my job to help you navigate through some of the releases dropping this weekend. Now, let’s get into the releases coming up this Friday and Saturday.

As usual here’s what you should not cop this weekend :

Do not get me wrong, I love Adidas Boosts. I have a pair and the main reason why I bought them in the first place, was because of the style. A long time ago, I explained in a previous WTC that I was a fan of black shoes on the contingency that they are executed properly. What makes this a non cop is the the black translucent cage that looks oddly green, as well as the black sole that from a close range, looks like packing styrofoam. For me, these should be left on the shelf.

Here’s what you should:

KAWS x Air Jordan 4 – March 31st – $350

My favorite style of Jordan`s has been changed into a work of art by artist Brian Donnely aka KAWS. For those are not familiar with KAWS, he is a pop art designer who is known for 2D and 3D statues and figurines. I was extremely excited when I found out awhile ago that he has a collaboration in the works with the Jordan brand, and as I expected, the finished product is amazing. Collaboration shoes can in some cases be a hit or miss. From the gray suede to the glow in the dark sole with his design on the bottom, I deem this shoe not only a success but also a must cop.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Royal 2017 – April 1st – $160

Fun Fact: The person who really made like 1’s was our editor-in-chief Justice (@justabtnothing). I really didn’t realize how many outfits you could match with 1’s until you see Justice do it. Thus, off the strength of the outfit versatility and the color, I feel as though you should add these to your spring shoe arsenal.

WWE Foot Locker PUMA Clyde – April 1st – $200- $499

This drop is really special because it pays homage to a known childhood memory which is WWE. Although the shoe’s classic Clyde styles are all similar, it’s subtle features such as the custom laces and insoles are the driving force in helping with differentiating each pair from each other. In each of the insoles you will find that some of the biggest WWE legends are found in the collection. All-time greats such as The Ultimate Warrior, Ric Flair, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Randy Savage and more are all featured within each shoe. Then there is the Undertaker version that features an all black upper along with a casket style shoe box. Even though you can find this shoe in most retailers, the sad part is that in order to get the Undertaker edition, you have to travel to florida on the strength of that being the location of Wrestlemania this year as well as drop the extra $200 . But still, y`all need to cop these.

nike-air-more-uptempo-black-pink-415082-003-01-681x444.pngNike Air More Uptempo GS Hyper Pink – April 1st – $130

I love this sneaker because what makes it stand out to me flaunts the neon pink color without going overboard. Most of the time, what makes a good shoe are those small but enormous details. I became a fan of Uptempo`s when they released in all black with the white trim. They did enough for me while not doing too much. I think for both men and women that if you can get this shoe, then you should.

There we have it folks, another week of shoe releases in the books. May the sneaker raffles be ever in your favor, and for those who do pick up some heat this weekend, don’t hesitate to show us over @thedemotape_ and @gabbydotjay__.
