When you search through the plethora of DMV rappers, a lot of “good” ones get overlooked. It’s not always on purpose, but a result of a lack of material. The ones who know who Tre’ Amani is, know who he is. Quiet and humble until he’s in the booth, Amani is one of my personal favorites.
His EP Die Young is seven-tracks full of emotions. During the project, we get to hear the ups and downs of Amani’s life before and during the recording of this project. Being vulnerable through your music is a big way for fans to connect with you not only as an artist but personally; Amani succeeds at that. If you’ve never heard of Tre’ Amani before, you will learn a lot about him during this 30-minute project.
I got to ask Tre’ about the title project’s title and he said:
As far as the title Die Young, that came from the homie Brent; he said I could use it because he knows I’m pretty infatuated with the thought of dying young. We consider ourselves old souls. I feel like I’m really 45-50 yrs old sometimes. That was like 2 yrs ago. I DON’T WANT PEOPLE THINKING I’M PROMOTING DYING AT A YOUNG AGE, THAT’S NOT IT AT ALL, THE IDEA IS TO DIE YOUNG AS LATE AS POSSIBLE. The idea is to live everyday to the fullest, it’s not gonna happen everyday but that’s goals. Don’t let this world age you internally, don’t let your job age you, don’t let bills age you, don’t let these fake ass hoes age you, don’t let these fake as niggas age you. Stay young forever by surrounding yourself with authentic organic shit. Fresh ideas, good people, good vibes, food, pussy, emotions, and most importantly love. You can be 78 years old and die young. It’s about ya soul, ya heart, and what you got inside of it. DIE YOUNG.
