With her newest project Tina Snow, Houston femcee and class act Megan Thee Stallion delivers quotables for days upon days, Houston swag and bad b**** antics for 30 minutes that seems like hours in terms of great content. For the past couple of years, the now 23-year old Houston native has been a class act not only in Houston, but a noticeable rapper across the nation who unforgettably hits her audience with her freestyles, looks, punchlines, and flows that make her an act to compete with in regards to any of her peers. Taking advantage of her segment in “The Houston Cypher” that went viral in 2016, Megan Thee Stallion released singles and strategical marketing campaigns with her music, high performance etiquette, and aesthetic throughout her hometown of Houston, Texas, and even further, before brilliantly breaking through the modern rap scene with her Tina Snow project.
Considering the content of her past raps, this project is what one would expect from Houston’s finest in terms of sexualized raps about pussy power and how the competition (male or female) cannot even compare, even in their best days. However, the content and compositions of Tina Snow are not as mundane as simple sex raps, and are exceptional in structure and execution following her meteoric rise in fame. Individuals often try to police women in terms of their sexuality and forms of expression, even in rap as well. Megan Thee Stallion, just like with her entire career thus far, scraps these controlling parameters and norms, once again delivering to the masses a quality project that trumps close to all of her competition. Megan Thee Stallion, with her aesthetic appeal, some of the dirtiest sex talk this side of the Dirty South, flows, punchlines, and great hooks for her songs, delivers a great contender for one of the most notable underground Rap/Hip Hop projects of the year that true fans of the genre/culture should be listening to.

It was an absolute shame that Megan Thee Stallion was snubbed from this year’s XXL Freshman List, because she is indeed that damn good; not just on the local, but national level. For lovers of rap music, Tina Snow by Megan Thee Stallion is truly something to give a round of applause for.
