On My Block

Yo, I don’t know what to say about this show. I finish this show on my shift at work. It’s a mix between The Chi & The Wire. Basically, it shows the struggle of minority kids tied in with gang culture. The main cast and all of the supporting characters really embody what the show is all about and I was honestly surprised. I saw everyone tweeting about it for a week, but I was so caught up in The Office that I didn’t want to stop and watch anything else. I highly recommend this show. The ending isn’t for the lighthearted - you will walk away having to wipe a tear or two from your eyes. Get right on it before season 2 comes out!

Rapture

If you listen to The Working Title Podcast, you’d know that I have high praises about this show and how they carried it. T.I. said that Rapture is the “30 for 30 for hip-hop” and to be honest, if you’re a fan of ESPN’s 30 for 30, you can’t disagree with that. I got through the Logic, G-Eazy and 2 Chainz episodes, and I can’t wait until I have time to sit down and finish the rest of it. Watching those three episodes it made you actually learn more about the rappers without having to go through the BS questions that radio personalities give them during interviews.

Blood and Bone

Every week I give y’all an underrated sleeper and I can count on my had the number of people actually watched it. This is a low-budget indie film and honestly its way better than what I expected it to be. I watched in back in high school and I’ve been watching it over and over again ever since. It’s all violence and the story’s plot is really good. I’ve always thought that Michael Jai White was supper underrated as an actor because he always has those “muscle head” roles like the The Rock, but this movie gives you a side of both.
