The song title “Fair Trade” is ironic considering the unfair advantage and mercilessly dexterous production mixed with the high-grade lyricism that this track delivers. 4kBrand, Mild Sobriety, and 3SIDE all teamed up for a dynamic track to break their way into the conversation of great Hip Hop tracks to be released this past weekend. “Fair Trade” is produced by Baltimore rapper/producer Android No.23 and Baltimore rapper/producer Micheal Taylor as a lead single for Android No. 23’s upcoming Adverse EP set to release on June 23rd.
Vlad from 3SIDE, the DMV rapper and creative who is featured on this track, once again lives up to his imperial-like flow and attack on the beat, whipping its ass horizontally, vertically, left, right, and any direction you can think of with the high-word play he is habitually lauded for.
I done got so good at news tying, Man you goose-stepping
But I’m all inside the V like some goose flying
-Vlad, “Fair Trade”
A brilliant choice by both producers of this track led to an instrumental change and variant of the original instrumental that Vlad rapped over in the previous verse. The instrumental change prompted Android No.23 to anchor the track with a notable verse of his own in order to showcase the greatest that is to come with the Adverse EP. Android No.23 did not shy back, living up to his rap name by giving a bionically sharp and lethal verse from start to finish.
Unnecessary; And she got a goal to be legendary
I ain’t tryna be a fuckin’ secretary, that’s extra scary
If you take offense that discretionary
I’m aiming for the fence like the best of Barry
Bonds. Word is bond, that’s respect I carry
-Android No.23 “Fair Trade”
If this is anything that we can predict for Android No.23’s new project then the DMV and Baltimore should be very excited.
