Northeast Baltimore native Chris Cassius releases his sophomore mixtape, the 7-track Chest Vest Music EP. Featuring production from CashMoneyAP, Lilvoe On The Beat, TokyoTendo, Nish, and Descentive Beats, the project offers a snapshot of Cassius’ personal troubles, aspirations, and the music scene of Baltimore. Features on the mixtape include Al Hostile and fellow Baltimore natives Zheep, La’ Matic and Tay Santino.
Cassius released his debut project 6BRIX more than a year ago, featuring standout tracks FWTC and Elevator Music. Since his 2015 project, he’s released a series of singles including “Competition” and the fan-favorite “Chirp” to build his buzz in his hometown and the surrounding DMV area. As he continues to showcase his progression, “there’s a lot to be excited about for this East Baltimore artist.” (FlowsForDays)
Cassius is coming off of performances at The Motor House in Baltimore, MD this past June as well as a show at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA last Friday on September 1, 2017. “Chris Cassius absolutely killed his set last night, especially with his song “Hit My Chirp,” he gained a fan from that performance,” wrote Black Aphillyated, a Philadelphia-based blog in attendance at the show hosted by The Demo Tape.
