Jay Verze Sends Warning Shot With “No Smoke”

Once known as the “Adolescence Phenom,” Baltimore’s Jay Verze is coming into his own and continues to grow artistically as shown with his latest release, “No Smoke.” Teaming back up with director Addy Play, Verze delivers crisp visuals for his most recent single, joined by fellow Baltimore artist Export Hi Tec and RGM Bu, fellow artist on his Rose Gold Music label.

“No Smoke” serves as a warning to other rappers and the dismissal to record label talk, as Verze raps “these niggas don’t want no smoke, so I pull up and give em exhaust” while later burning a 360 contract in the video. While a number of other Baltimore artists have been signing record contracts as the industry begins to eye the city more, Verze continues to make his decision to remain independent well known.
