60 Minutes with Mack Scott
No simpin, more pimpin - a playlist by Mack Scott for the 7th episode of 60 Minutes
Mack Scott’s sound is very reminiscent of the 80’s mafioso rap. It’s almost like if Kool G Rap and Big Daddy Kane passed their down their notebooks to the young rapper. Last year, he released his Still Mackin’ 2, showing off his suave and knack for pimpin’. So far in 2017, he’s been great as a part of the Baltimore-based trio New Wave Order, alongside Jay Verze and Shwaze Collins. They’ve released two songs this year, “Hollywood Hulk Hogan” and “Motions,” where Scott has impressive, braggadocio verses on both.
Recently, we sat down with Scott to curate his 60 Minutes for Episode 7. Even with an old-school sound himself, he wasn’t afraid to add some recent songs in his mix like Playboi Carti’s “Half & Half” and XXXtentacion’s “Look At Me!” However, the Project Pat and Ice Cube cuts show perhaps some of his biggest influences sonically.
