Anne Dereaux has been highly impressive since her solo debut after the release of her single “Mo(u)rning,” which even made its way to the ears of Rick Rubin. Named the “Best New Artist of April 2017” by Pigeons and Planes, the Los Angeles-based, Nashville born songstress is set to turn her run of breathtaking singles into a body of work with her EP Book of Lolita due this summer. If the first single “Rock Away” is any indication, Dereaux may be set to breakout soon.
“Rock Away” is a ballad of loving one’s self and distancing from negativity. “‘Rock Away’ is about loving yourself enough to walk away from a messed-up relationship when the person tries to come back – because they always do,” says Dereaux. With only two solo singles in the books, it’s more apparent that she’s capable of making a splash in the second half of the year. Listen to “Rock Away” below.
