The 4th Quarter – August 19, 2016

Notice anything different? They said the 4th Quarter needed covers, so a cover is what was made. Anyways though, I’ve been trying to get the lists back down to the original ten, but I’ve just been finding so much good music that I wanna share that the closest I got this week was 12 songs. Songs like daveology.’s “Lie To Me” off his recently released “NIGHTS” and “Run W/ Me” by Lucki off his “FREEWAVE II” made cutting this list to ten songs a disservice to y’all. LC Stokes just dropped off his latest song, “Smackdown,” and I have something from Baltimore’s Juice Juliano I want you all to hear as well. Without further ado, here’s this week’s 4th Quarter.

Goldie Mack – All Year

The Homeless Trillionaire himself made a banger here. He’s now followed up “Vi$ionary” with “All Year” as well as his “11:30 in Baltimore” video.

Matt McGhee – Carnival [Prod. by Andy McMann]

Y’all remember that season of American Horror Story at the carnival with the freak show? That’s what this reminds me of. Even if you’re not an American Horror Story fan though, I promise you’ll become a fan of McGhee soon.

36Reezy – Whole Thing [Prod. by Kiddsavage]

This is definitely a change of pace for Reezy, as we’re accustomed to hearing a delivery similar to his energy on songs like “Everything.” If the rumors are true and this is what his upcoming EP sounds like however, we could be in for a welcomed surprise.

LULBIGBROTHER – 5-Oz

I saw “Bruva” perform at show in Baltimore recently and his set was definitely one of my favorites of the night. Along with myself, I think he definitely made a couple of new fans.

ATCBYRD – D.O.P.E. (feat. President Davo)

Along with LULBIGBROTHER, I also saw ATCBYRD at the same before-mentioned show in Baltimore. I’ve heard “D.O.P.E.” before, but hearing it live in person made me gain more of an appreciation of it.

Juice Juliano – Order Up [Prod. by Taz Taylor]

Baltimore’s own Juice Juliano has been on a run this month, releasing freestyles over Drake’s “Summer Sixteen” as well as DJ Khaled’s “I Got The Keys” in addition to his Qua Dinero-assisted “Scoreboard.” However, “Order Up” is the one right here. Great job Juice.

Highlife Cato – Damn Fool (Feat. Rico Nasty)

All respect to Highlife Cato, but Rico Nasty….ripped this.

Dee Dave – Loyalty (Feat. GGL Slick and FMG Dez) [Prod. By DJ Drew]

East Baltimore’s own skated over his latest track “Loyalty,” assisted by GGL Slick and FMG Dez. With the bass DJ Drew put on this, it’s definitely a heavy hitter in the whip rotation.

Lucki – Run W Me [Prod. by Mayhem Meech]

“Freewave 2” made yesterday seem like Friday. “Bloodboy Freestyle,” “6th Sense,” “Speed Demon,” and “Dirty Demon” were already favorites of mine before the project’s release. The rest of the tape lived up to my expectations for the rest of “Freewave II.”

LC Stokes – Smackdown [Prod. by LC Stokes]

“Used to be the class clown graduated to packs now.” Stokes told me he was working on something with a different sound and I told Stokes this needed to be the first song he performs at this weekend’s Backpack Jam.

Kent – Errybody

You know when the set you’re playing on Soundcloud ends and it jumps to a related track? I was playing the 4th Quarter from last and this came on next as a “related track”; oh the irony. This definitely accidentally became one of my favorite songs this week though.

daveology. – Lie To Me (Feat. Scotty Banx)

A wise man once said “this shit sound beautiful dummy,” and if I had to pick a phrase to match “NIGHTS” that might be the one right there. The trilogy came to and end, but Dave definitely gave us some timeless ones to add to the collection.
